‘I have something to say’ Printable AAC Label Stickers

A user of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) may have the most thoughtfully designed AAC system available to them, but if someone doesn’t have a way to get it out when needed it is not likely to help anyone achieve their communication goals. It’s important to competency of initiation the use of a device or communication book. For those who are not able to physically able to independently set-up their system, one strategy I like to use is creating a low-tech “initiation sign” – something that they can look or point to for letting people in the room know that they need that AAC system brought out for them. I have developed the following stickers for people to put around in a communicators environment.

These are a Microsoft Word template and can be altered as needed, and are designed to fit 4 label printing paper (or cut out from a whole page)

They could be placed on a wheelchair tray, bedside table, on an AAC device.
